MOSH Criterium shows commitment to cycling community

On Sunday, cyclists from Southeast Wisconsin are going to take their talents to the tight corners and fast straights of the MOSH Criterium. The race is in its second year and wouldn’t be possible without the Midwest Orthopedic Specialty Hospital, one of Team Wisconsin’s most valued sponsors.

Mark Alberg, a manager of athletic training at MOSH and Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare, has been a fan of cycling nearly his entire life. Alberg used to race mountain bike and keeps the sport going at home through riding for leisure with his children. He has also ridden for causes like multiple sclerosis with Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare. But Alberg does much more to support cycling.

Through his work at MOSH, Mark is dedicated to the health and well-being of cyclists and all athletes in Southeast Wisconsin. As a fan of the sport and professional in athletic training, he strongly encourages cycling as an activity because “with its low amount of impact on joints, it is probably the healthiest form of outdoor activity you can do.”

Alberg got to know members of Team Wisconsin through races at the Tour of America’s Dairyland and that was the start of what Mark calls a “worthwhile partnership.” Together they started the MOSH Criterium.

Looking forward to the race this week, Alberg says he is “happy and excited to be part of the cycling community.” The MOSH Criterium, Mark says, proves MOSH’s “dedication to working with athletes and being part of the community and its commitment to helping people in their health and well-being.”

Along with the Midwest Orthopedic Specialty Hospital, Team Wisconsin thanks KS Energy Services, Emerys, Country Financial, Trek Bicycles and Clif Bar for helping put on a great race.
