Team Wisconsin competes in the 90 mile Ganther Race the Lake.

On August 17th, four members of Team Wisconsin lined up at 5:50am for a 90 mile race around Lake Winnebago.

Ganther Race the Lake is the LONGEST timed, all citizen bike race in the United States. Its also one of the largest – 1,286 racers in 2014.

And with $5000 in prize money, it draws some of the best athletes from around the country.

An early break got away and despite a fast, fast, fast final 5 miles, Team Wisconsin couldn’t quite close the gap.

Eric Brandt led the way for Team Wisconsin finishing 58th overall and top ten in his age group. Results.
